blog love

Image
We have had some lovely blog love over the last little while and since they have featured Sweet William so aptly we thought it would be nice to return the love. Wolf and Willow is an inspiring blog by Nancy, an Australian designer, seamstress and illustrator, who featured some of our prints. I was also very flattered to have Britni from paper n stich the blog do a tour of my home. 'papernstitch is an online exhibition space that was created to promote talented artists, designers, and makers selling handmade goods. the exhibition space is curated monthly and showcases the best of the best on an international level. hence our tagline: hand-picked. handmade.'

phew!

I have just had a few pretty full on weeks - we moved house, my daughter was admitted to hospital with a severe asthma attack, I had a freelance illustration job go horribly pear shaped, I ran my first half marathon and I had no internet connection for 10 days! All better now - my daughter, Liberty, has recuperated, I got the illustration sorted out and have the web up and running in my new studio space, YAY. I haven't quite unpacked everything yet and am still on the look out for inspiring interior shots - found these from: emmas design blog , a beautiful living and skonahem . I should be unpacking and sorting things out while my kids are out the house but I decided to make myself a cup of tea, sit down and loose myself in lovely blogland for a little while. AHH so good to be online again. Paula x

Jozi and ikapa

Image
Right now all eyes are on South Africa's beautiful cities due to the Soccer World Cup, which has me a little nostalgic for those skylines. I especially miss the shape of Table Mountain that frames Cape Town (where I am from ). Which means the Jozi Icons floating shelf and Ikapa coat rack by New Moon Africa have really hit the spot. I would love to get my hands on them!

I love Craft 2.0!

Image
Hello all, Paula is moving house and the poor thing is swamped so she gave me a gentle nudge about the blog since its been a while since I did a post. "But never fear", I said - "I do have something to post about - its the wonderful, fabulous Craft 2.0 craft market I just had a stall at on the weekend". And it was fab... I love it because the crowd is great, I love it because the crafters are even better. I have the best time saying hello to other makers, some old crafty friends, and some new. I wish I could just spend all day schmoozing from stall to stall and hang out with all these talented makers. The venue is also amazing - The New Dowse is such a lovely gallery. So apart from being surrounded by amazing goods, one can also take a browse through an ever changing array of exhibitions - I mean the place is oozing with inspiration. So I did do some shopping: A beautiful new bag from the ever supportive and enthusiastic Emma . This gorgeous headband from M

a Spoonful of hapiness

I was asked to contribute an illustration of a goat for this wonderful zine - Spoonful. ' Spoonful is a short and inspiring little publication which, in light of our insanely busy lives, can be finished by the end of a train ride. It's quick to consume, beautifully soft, & after reading will genuinely make you smile.' Here is a link to their website. Link. I have a copy of the latest copy and it is great!

fresh inspiration for my move

Image
Moving is never easy - even though this is the 10th one in twelve years! Anyway I saw these images on this wonderful website - hansblomquist - and feel hugely inspired for some current interior ideas for our new place. Nothing like a move for a fresh start. Paula x
