great market at Fed square!

Image
I had a wonderful market yesterday at Federation square - the crowds were incredible! I was pleased with my stall set up - here is a shot of my eldest daughter Lia, who helped me at the stall and a close up of the back drop which I am afraid is a little blurry. I framed a few of my prints in a collection of old and new frames, I will have to take better shots at the next market - which will be Magnolia Square at St. Kilda Town hall which kicks off this Thursday evening for 4 days - crazy busy!

new work - peony

Image
Here is a photo of me drawing a big, beautiful, peony while on my visit to Shelley in New Zealand a few weeks ago (that's Shelley's other half, Jeremy in the photo). And then here is the print which I created from the drawing, when I got back to my studio which will be for sale in our etsy shop . Have a lovely weekend everyone, if you are in Melbourne - pop over to Fed. square on Sunday for an awesome market .

Next market - pretty excited!

Image
This Sunday I will be at Federation Square, in Melbourne CBD at MARKit - looks like it's gonna be fantastic! Here are just some of the other stall holders: amazing tea towels and storage crates by - bonnie and neil ; mog egg cups from third drawer down ; wooden heart brooch by a skulk of foxes ; shadow puppet necklace by lola&bailey ; the wonderful beci orpin ; pretty brooches from notions . Can't wait - should be great, pop in and say hello if you are in the city. I have to crack on with getting everything done for the market now.

fresh inspiration - Olaf Hajek

Image
I got lost for a few hours in Metropolis , one of the most amazing book shops in Melbourne. I was there to buy a gift for some one else but of-course walked out clutching a beautiful gift to myself against my chest, feeling excited about my guilty pleasure! I bought 'Flowerhead' by Olaf Hajek and here are some images from his website , for you all to enjoy. The book is amazing! Have a lovely weekend. Paula x

reworked swallow for exhibition

Image
I am very pleased to be part of the 'on the wall' exhibition which will take place at Finders Keepers Market in Sydney on the 3rd of December. I wanted to submit my swallow drawing but had a specific size to work to, so I redrew my swallow and added some ink and gouache paint, the title of this piece is 'song'. The original will be for sale at the exhibition and prints of this image, in a slightly smaller size, are for sale in our etsy store.

flicker favorites

Image
Here are some of my flicker favorites at the moment - you can link to all the images here . My blogging has been a little sporadic lately as it is such a busy, busy time of the year! I have some big and exciting markets to get ready for, a small exhibition in Sydney (YAY!), end of year ballet concerts, gymnastic performances and drama productions for my girls and I am super excited to have my brother and his wife, all the way from Ireland, arriving today for a visit! Okay need to sort out the house now. P xx

I have my peacock print featured in this lovely online magazine called Maeve - which offers inspirational and intelligent reading for woman, grown ups, parents. Grab a cup of tea, sit down and have a little flick through, it's great.

New Finds

Image
Hi all. It has been pretty busy in my studio since getting back from my lovely break in New Zealand. Shelley and I did get some great junk shopping done - here are a few of my finds and I think Shelley will post her finds soon. I was pretty pleased with my ceramic horse, I also found a small printers tray, another pretty tea cup and saucer, a miniature trophy, some lovely old glass bottles and lovely vintage embroidery. : ) Here is Liberty (my youngest) with my finds. It was great to have all the attention from the design files blog feature - felt a bit funny to see my little home featured so beautifully on such a great blog - thanks for all the support. It is a busy time of the year - I am gearing up for a few markets, the next one is Mathilda's Market on 21rst November. Than there will be house guests, more markets, end of year school activities, freelance work and of course Christmas! Phew. Better start writing some lists or something.

Wow wee, so excited and most flattered!

While on holiday in New Zealand, visiting Shelley, (having a wonderful time) my husband rang to say that Lucy over at design files had been in contact and wanted to feature our home on her amazing blog! WOW. Shelley's computer connection is not up and running yet, as they are in a middle of a build, so I have popped into the local library to have a look - and I am tickled pink! Back in Melbourne tomorrow to pick it all up again. You can link to it here .
