One of our favourite things to do, is head off to Mag Nation and buy a pile of new mags, to get our inspirational juices flowing. As content on the web is so current, it is getting harder and harder for magazines to compete and the word out there is that eventually it will all end up on tablets...but Shelley and I agreed that there is nothing quite like sitting down with a cup of tea and a lovely pile of beautiful mags. I have been wanting to put this set together for awhile now and at last it has come together just in time for Markit@Fed Square this Sunday.  These are pencil sketches of things found by me on field trips around where we live. We are fortunate to have a state park behind our house in Warrandyte, Australia. My family and I often go on beautiful walks collect and gathering things of interest. The skull, we think, is of a wallaby. This set of 4 small prints is available in our etsy shop or if you would like to see the set in person then come along to Federation Square on Sunday the 27th of May from 10am until 5pm. I am extra excited as Shelley, my sister, (and other half of Sweet Wiliam) will be with me visiting from New Zealand - yay!

My husband and I had a special treat of a weekend away, while the kids were with a friend. We had a wonderful time in Daylesford . We ate well, went for beautiful walks amongst the autumn trees, scratched around in junk shops and breathed in all the crisp country air. Highlights were buying a handmade Harris tweed hat from a lovely hat maker at the railway market , breakfast at the Larder , a drink at the Farmers Arms , dinner at the Lake House and buying thank you gifts at Cliffy's Emporium . There is so much going on all the time in web world - facebook pages, intagram, pinterest etc., etc. and I feel I have been neglecting my flickr collection. I do like flickr as you can follow people you like and then see who they are following for some more coolness. It is totally image led and it is easy to trace the source of the image. Mother's love illustration below You know some times when you are walking through a beautiful forest and you come across a fallen tree and you notice how life has carried on around the tree? New things have grown in and around it, maybe some little creatures have made their home in it, it is still there but no longer standing as tall as it used to. Shelley and I (and our younger brother Myles) lost our Mum 6 years ago and this is how it feels sometimes. I miss the beautiful, strong, solid tree but I can see how it's presence is still felt and will be for a very, very long time. This image is about that, a mother's love is strong deep and wide.  Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers and Grandmothers out there. Paula xxx
